CableLabs Trumpets Success of Advanced Advertising Interop Event

--Event Sought to Prove Interoperability of SCTE-130 Interfaces, Develop Profiles for SCTE-130 and SaFI

US cable-industry research, development and standardization body, CableLabs, is trumpeting the success of an Advanced Advertising Interop event it held, June 14th-18th, to prove interoperability, based on the SCTE-130 standard, across a number of advertising interfaces. The weeklong event was organized in partnership with SCTE DVS/Working Group 5, the SCTE committee charged with working on advanced advertising, and with Canoe Ventures, the company tasked with implementing the US cable industry's plans for interactive and addressable advertising.

--BlackArrow Raises $20 Million in NDS-Led Series C Funding Round

Advanced advertising technology provider, BlackArrow, announced Monday that it has closed a $20 million Series C financing round that was led by interactive TV and conditional access technology provider, NDS, and that also saw the participation of existing BlackArrow investors Cisco, Comcast Interactive Capital, Intel Capital, the Mayfield Fund and Polaris Venture Partners.

Bresnan Begins Dynamic VOD Advertising Trial, Using Solutions from Arris, Avail-TVN, BlackArrow

Bresnan Communications, the US's 13th-largest MSO (it has approximately 300,000 subscribers), announced last week that it has begun a trial of technologies that enable the dynamic insertion of advertising into VOD programming.
