Broadband video platform provider, KIT Digital, said Monday that it has executed a definitive agreement to acquire privately held, Singapore-based Benchmark Broadcast Systems, thus giving it a significant foothold in the Asian market. The Benchmark acquisition is the latest in a string of acquisitions by KIT Digital (formerly known as ROO), which in recent months has also acquired US-based Multicast Media Technologies and The FeedRoom, Germany-based Nunet, and UK-based Narrowstep. "Benchmark was a choice acquisition for us in a number of ways, and one which we have been working on for some time," KIT Digital chairman and CEO, Kaleil Isaza Tuzman, said in a prepared statement.

KIT Digital, a provider of IP-based video technologies, announced Wednesday that it has acquired the assets (and assumed various current liabilities of) pioneering Internet TV company, Narrowstep. The deal follows the collapse of a previously announced agreement (see [itvt] Issue 7.87.1), under which Onstream Media was to acquire the company.
